Look into their eyes and
they will speak to you, that is the experience one encounters when viewing
the Portraits of the Great Apes as painted by Robert Cooper. Using his
skills as a master portrait artist and drawing on his love for his subjects,
Robert has captured in classical portrait style the most unique faces
on earth, next to Man, the faces of the Great Apes. Viewing his portraits
of chimpanzees, orangutans, bonobos and gorillas and getting to know
each of them as the individuals will forever changes ones impression
of the Great Apes.
Robert is currently seeking a publisher to produce and distribute his collection of Portraits of the Great Apes in book form. To date he has completed over two hundred portraits and character studies of these unique individuals with accompanying text detailing who each individual is and the circumstances of his or her life. There are essays written by Robert explaining why this work has become his lifes passion, and another examining the visual history and continuing exploitation of these magnificent beings in the media. An accompanying forward will be written by Dr, Jane Goodall, DBE, Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, and UN Messenger of Peace. Marketing and distribution potential for this book are enormous and world wide. Because it is a book of fine art paintings covering the universally interesting subject of Great Apes, it can be marketed by commercial book sellers, art museums, natural history museums and zoos. The traveling exhibit of Portraits of the Great Apes which is currently moving around the country, and eventually the world, will generate consistent media exposure. If you are a publisher interested in discussing this project with us please contact MOGA (Museum of the Great Apes) at: info@apemuseum.com or by phone at: 415-454-7267. |
