Monkeys Have Tails |
|
|
We often hear people refer to apes as monkeys. Apes
are not monkeys.
The easiest way to tell the difference is the fact that monkeys have tails. All monkeys accept for one, but let's keep it simple. However, none of the great apes (gorillas, bonobos, chimpanzee or orangutan) have tails. Nor do we human beings. |

| Some people complain
about scientists or other individuals anthropomorphizing (giving human
shape or characteristics to other species or objects) animals, especially
the great apes. But is it possible to anthropomorphize apes since they already have human shape and characteristics? Humans and apes are both called anthropoids for a reason. |
